     This was actually a big moment for Spider, as her love affair with Mr. DiFranco's music has continued to this day. Isn't if funny, how such major, life-changing events often have such banal, prosaic beginnings?  Reminds of a time in high-school when the girl in front of me in History class passed me a note...

Monday's Blue, Plant is Brown (Chapter 2 pg 55)

    We've mentioned before that the comic is mapped out in advance, in order to keep the days straight and knit our true stories together with fictional bridges and all that stuff.  Anyway, Spider discovered Sunday night that we had nothing but Bat and Ace's confrontation scheduled for Monday!  While we were brainstorming a possible comic idea (which was mostly be asking "what's so-and-so doing?"), I facesiously asked what happened to Bat's plant.  We wondered about it for a while - did I bring inside? If so, did my parents say anything?  Finally, we admitted that the most likely outcome was that I left the poor thing in the car.  So...today's comic.

     Inspiration can come for weird places...

     Another of the things I've noticed while working on the comic is that with the exception of Spider, the women in my life back then always doubled down on the Bitch when confronted.
